This is my… I don’t know it is a writing or article…. anyway, I was asked to write something. Anything I like, about myself or my school, teachers or my job. So here it is (it was printed on Arena’s Hi5 Magazine).
—————————————————————————————————-
One of many things I admire about Haruki Murakami is the starting point of his writing carrer. I read in his book ”What I talk about when I talk about running“, one morning, at the stadium, and he thought “I want to write one novel”.
The specification and simplicity of that action impressed me. No need to scream out loud who we want to become. An artist? A famous singer?… No, it’s what I want to do. And I just want to write a novel. ONE novel.
I love clarity. Simplicity. Profound desire.
Let’s start everything with a specific goal.
“What do I want to do today?” – Do you ever ask yourself this question?
I ask myself all the time.
When I was a kid, people often asked me what my insatiable desire for, who I wanted to become when I grew up. Me? I wanted to be a superhero, an astronomer, an archaeologist, a thriller writer, own a baker shop, open a bookshop… I even have a collection of secret non-sense wishes. But most of all, I am oddly fascinated by stories. I love telling stories.
Furthermore, I love emotions. So I would like to tell emotional stories. Moreover, I am keen on playing with colors, shapes, lines… thus, I tell stories in visual way.
In the past, I had a crush on a guy. Sadly, he did not feel the same way as me. Should I have brought a big knife to his house and threaten him “love me or die” ? Whereas, I was a coward, I just cried into my comics. Somehow, my friends found it hilarious. Afterwards, I thought that any pain might be useful someday.Or at least, your attitude could change the way you and others see it. And until now, people love that heartbreak comics so much that they really do not care whether it is real or not. They simply like it because of its humor. That’s all!
We have the rights to choose what we want to do as long as we know what we love. I like funny happy things. When creating something new, I only hope that they can make my audiences comfortable and inspired. In my opinion, if we need the sadness and cruel reality we just live as life is. That is enough! I do not have to draw to design anymore.
When you attend FPT Arena school (or any design school/ university), do you think thoroughly about what your passion is? It is more important that you think about it everyday. One of the most wonderful feelings in the world is knowing deeply what you really want and you want it badly. My great teacher once told my class, do not be mean to your dreams, because one day you would regret “why was my dream so tiny and boring?”.
So, dream big. And do not forget to make it come true. Happy new year!
These are cover which I designed for ThaiUyen Books.

)
- when I first knew that you liked my drawings and it was the reason why we became friends, I loved my ability to the Moon (and loved you all the way back)
- when I first saw you, everything around me flew up for a while, like in Big Fish movie – when the main character met his future wife…
- when I first touched your hand, I was wearing gloves (I forgot to take them off)
- when I first talked to you, I kept talking non-sense things because I did not want our conversation to end
I’m thinking seriously of drawing and designing a set of bookmark with concept ![]()
- don’t ever cut down your flowers
- Magic mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?
- a beautiful just need to blossom
- Very very careful
I’m drawing… uhm, presents for my friends (I will update as soon as I finish one).
